Depuis une vingtaine d’années, Clément Chapillon se rend régulièrement sur l’île d’Amorgos, située au cœur de l’archipel grec des Cyclades.
Avec son Plaubel Makina 67 (appareil moyen format argentique), il a constitué un récit en images à la fois documentaire et métaphorique sur les sentiments contradictoires que provoque l’insularité de ce territoire rocheux, aride et sauvage.
Les différents aspects de façonnage de l’ouvrage, le format, étroit et long, la découpe de la pochette, la teinte du calque, ont été choisi de manière à faire écho à ces notions d’îléité, de roches fauves.

For the past twenty years, Clément Chapillon has regularly visited the island of Amorgos, located in the heart of the Greek archipelago of the Cyclades.
With his Plaubel Makina 67 (a medium format film camera), he has created a narrative in images that is both documentary and metaphorical about the contradictory feelings provoked by the insularity of this rocky, arid and wild territory.
The different aspects of the book’s design, the format, narrow and long, the cut of the cover, the colour of the tracing paper, were chosen to echo these notions of ileity, of wild rocks.
